Barakat redesigned its bottles to drive mass awareness in the UAE and encourage people to make healthier choices.

Obesity and health problems were on the rise and, while people were trying to make healthy choices, they were not in the habit of checking products' nutritional value.

Barakat redesigned its bottles and invited shoppers to #ReadTheLabel, while also airing a brand film in cinemas and hosting a live session on Instagram with a certified nutritionist.

About the Awards

Previously known as the WARC Prize for MENA Strategy, the Awards were launched in 2017 to showcase MENA’s smartest marketing thinking. Now in their sixth year, they continue to act as a spur to strategic thinkers across the region by generating a collection of work that will inspire them to create breakthrough thinking for their clients.

We also need to know that the strategy 'worked'. Although this is not an effectiveness competition, we want to reward strategic thinking that helps clients solve problems and provides a base for future growth. Entrants will be expected to show a link between their strategies and the results of the marketing activity.

The Awards are free to enter and are open to clients and agencies in any marketing discipline. Our high-calibre judging panel will be awarding Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Your entry: what you need to know. Please download the Entry Pack above, which contains all the information you need to enter the Awards – from details on what you will have to provide in your submission, to an entry template and full rules for entering. When you are ready to upload your entry, click on Enter the Awards. You'll be taken through to the LIONS portal where you can register and upload your entry, as well as submit supporting images and video content.

2022 Judges

A judging panel of industry experts, chaired by Lianne Braganza, Chief Marketing Officer, Cigna, will be reading the entries.

The WARC Awards for MENA Strategy are a powerful means to give brands in the MENA region an opportunity to demonstrate how they're making a difference as they respond to the unique challenges they are facing.
