Coinbase launched a campaign during the Super Bowl in the USA to encourage people to engage with the brand in a way that was authentic to its crypto-native roots.
Almost two thirds of all Americans didn't understand cryptocurrency and didn't think crypto was for people like them.
Coinbase developed a Super Bowl ad featuring a QR code that led to a landing page, offered new users Bitcoin for free and gave existing users the opportunity to win US$1m in Bitcoin.
