Now in its eighth year, the Prize is free to enter and is open to brand owners and agencies in any discipline. Full details, including an entry kit and form, can be found on the Prize website.
The $10,000 prize fund will reward the Grand Prix-winning paper with $5,000. Five $1,000 Special Awards will recognise excellence in specific fields. Two of these are for the best new thinking. These include the Category Disruptor Award for the best case of a brand successfully breaking category conventions, and the Early Adopter Award for the best example of a brand using innovation, emerging technologies or platforms.
The Local Hero Award will recognise the best example of a challenger Asian brand using a smart marketing strategy to take on bigger competitors. And, following the increasing need for seamless experiences, the Customer Journey Award will credit the best example of a brand creating a compelling path to purchase. Finally, the Research Excellence Award will look for the best use of research in the development of strategic ideas.
The deadline for entries is 10 July 2018, after which a judging panel of strategy experts and senior marketers from some of the world’s biggest brands will begin their work.
Chairing the judging this panel is Kellogg’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shekar Khosla. Joining him on the panel from the client-side: Sindhuja Rai, Director of Media & Digital, Mondelēz Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa; and Piotr Jakubowski, CMO, GO-JEK Indonesia, one of the region’s most innovative companies.
Agencies represented include: R/GA Shanghai, Isobar China, JWT Singapore and Southeast Asia, Publicis Thailand, TBWA\Greater China, Y&R Indonesia, MullenLowe Group APAC, McCann Worldgroup Philippines, and The Observatory International.
