NEW DELHI: Johnson & Johnson, the healthcare and pharma group, is looking to roll out more major brands and new products to drive growth in India.

At present, the US multinational is deciding which elements of its portfolio should be introduced in this increasingly important market.

Over the last year, it has unveiled the skincare brand Neutrogena and extended oral care offering Listerine in the country.

"Launching new brands and products has been the key to success," Gautam Suri, J&J's general marketing manager, consumer division, told PTI in an interview.

"We have plans to launch either brands from our global portfolio or introduce more products under the existing brands."

Nicorette gum, which aims to help customers stop smoking, has also been added to the corporation's Indian stable, and will receive substantial advertising support going forward.

"Nicorette is one of the largest brands of Johnson & Johnson," said Suri.

"In India, the number of tobacco users in India is estimated to be 275m. There is a huge potential to grow the brand in the country."
