Four-fifths of internet users in Brazil use YouTube each week, according to the latest data from YouGov and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Following steady but declining growth since 2014, 79.8% of internet users said they used the video platform in the past week. This makes YouTube the second most popular platform.
Instagram also recorded strong growth, increasing by 6.4 percentage points (pp) year-on-year. This takes total penetration above one-half (54.3%) for the first time.
