London-headquartered soft drinks and chocolate multinational Cadbury Schweppes has cancelled its six-day Washington DC convention for Dr Pepper and Seven-Up bottlers.

Scheduled to kick-off October 1, the event was intended to preview next year’s advertising and marketing plans for the two brands. Some sixteen hundred attendees, mostly from the US, had been expected.

According to CS, it did not want the delegates to feel concerned about flying to the event in the wake of the recent terrorist atrocities. The briefing will be rescheduled at a later date.
