The Atlanta-based Center for Disease Control is looking for agencies to help it conduct a $125 million campaign encouraging children and their parents to live more healthily.

The CDC is looking to spend the money, awarded by Congress for a one-year scheme, on an integrated campaign involving advertising, public relations and special events targeting local organisations and schools. Although it is looking for a number of shops to create the campaigns, the CDC will centralise all media buying with one lead agency.

The body is offering five-year contracts, in the hope that Congress will continue to fund the scheme for more than a single year. Proposals from agencies are due in by May 4.
