DaimlerChrysler, the German/American auto giant, revealed Monday that it is considering the extension of its current relationship with Mitsubishi Motors to include marketing across Japan and Europe.

The statement was prised from DaimlerChrysler following a report in the German Sunday press that it will take control of Mitsubishi’s European car transport and parts management. Although this was not confirmed, a company spoke disclosed the possibility of an expanded marketing collaboration.

The matter is on the agenda of the next meeting of Daimler’s Executive Automotive Committee, headed by group chairman Jürgen Schrempp.
