SINGAPORE: Senior executives from Nestlé, Ogilvy India and GroupM China are among the final selection of judges for the Warc Prize for Asian Strategy, the annual competition to find the region's best strategic case studies.

Now in its fourth year, the free-to-enter Prize is Asia's leading showcase for smart strategic thinking in marketing, with a $10,000 prize fund for winning papers.

Chaired by Freddy Bharucha, CMO Asia at Procter & Gamble, the full judging panel includes a further nine senior client-side marketers and agency-side executives.

The latest judges from the client-side include Chandru Radhakrishnan, the head of communications at Nestlé; Melisa Teoh, who leads the Southeast Asia brand marketing strategy at insurer Great Eastern; and Amrit Thomas, CMO at United Spirits, the largest spirits company in India.

The final judges from the agency side include Kawal Shoor, head of planning at Ogilvy India; Pete Heskett, until recently JWT's regional planning director for Southeast Asia; and Ellen Hou of McCann who leads its strategic planning in China.

Also from the agency side are Priti Murthy, the national director of insights at Maxus India; Tony Chen, chief digital officer at GroupM China; and Imogen Hewitt, head of strategy at Havas Worldwide Australia.

They will join ten other judges, who include representatives from Unilever, Coca-Cola, Mondelez International, Wieden + Kennedy, BBH, BBDO, TBWA and Grey.

Warc will present Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for the best strategy case studies, a $5,000 Grand Prix award and five $1,000 Special Awards for cases that excel in specific areas.

The deadline for entries is 3 July 2014 and full details are available on the Prize website where there are entry tips and interviews with former winners and judges.

Former Silver winner Shahvez Afridi, head of strategy at Grey Asia Pacific, described the Prize as being "a one-of-its-kind Asia-wide competition" and urged industry practitioners to participate.

"I can say without a doubt that it was one of the most satisfying wins of my career," he said.
