Four agencies have been shortlisted in the battle for the global ad duties of French cosmetics retailer Sephora, a unit of luxury goods titan LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Billings are unknown

The quartet, all Paris-based, are: V (owned by DDB Worldwide); luxury goods-oriented independent Air; BETC Euro RSCG; and Publicis Conseil.

Sephora currently sells upmarket perfumes – in particular those made by LVMH stablemates such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Kenzo and Guerlain – in over 150 stores in France, 85 elsewhere in Europe, 80 in the US and seven in Japan. The winning agency will devise a strategy to boost the brand in all existing markets.
