Malaysians spend longer streaming music than online TV content, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. Daily average music streaming consumption equalled 1:18 (hours:minutes) last year, above online TV's 1:04. However, music streaming remained stable between 2017-2018, while online TV has grown continously since 2012.
Although growing by nearly an hour and a half between 2012 and 2017, time spent online dipped 31 minutes last year. Total online consumption per day remains just over eight hours in 2018. Despite this dip, Malaysia places far above the regional average.
