Over half of UK homes have a subscription to at least one subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform, according to the latest data from BARB. In the first quarter of 2020, 15.0m households had a subscription, an increase of 740,000 (5.2%) from the end of 2019 and equal to 53% of all homes in the UK. The fourth quarter of 2019 was the first where at least half of UK households had a SVOD subscription.
Netflix is by far the most popular service, adding 660,000 subscribers (5.3%) to reach 13.0m households.
