Growth in global Alibaba commerce continues to decline, according to the latest company reports. Q1 2019 saw international commerce revenue for the tech giant grow 24.9% year-on-year, the lowest rate since Q1 2016. This continues a slide in the growth rate since Q1 2017's peak of 98.4%, despite the company's recent expansion.
Since Q1 2018, international commerce revenue growth has also been far slower than total commerce growth, which includes the domestic Chinese market and on-demand food delivery. Indeed, while total commerce saw a strong uptick in Q1 2019, foreign commerce growth stayed stable.
