Growth in Amazon's advertising revenue has accelerated and is more than twice as fast as other business segments, according to the latest company reports.
'Other' revenue for the company, which is primarily advertising, rose 87.5% to $7.9bn in the second quarter of 2021. No other business segment grew by more than 40% in Q2 2021.
Although advertising is the second-smallest revenue segment for Amazon, its quick growth means it is likely to overtake subscription services ($7.9bn in Q2 2021) in size this year.
