Tide, a laundry detergent brand, positioned itself as a category leader in innovation and sustainability by partnering with NASA.

Situation Analysis

Serving about 47 million households in the US and Canada gives Tide® the unique opportunity to inspire behavior change and drive positive impact on the environment. As such, Tide signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA in August 2020 to identify cleaning solutions that would conserve the planet's resources and potentially reduce their footprint at the same time.

Scientists and engineers from both Tide and NASA partnered to develop laundry detergent solutions and technology development in space. Their research is identifying innovative, effective cleaning methods for clothing that are both environmentally friendly and classified as low-resource-use cleaning.
