The Africa Trade Forum was held on November 2 &3, 2018 in Lagos, hosted by Nigeria's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and co-organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), The Rockefeller Foundation, and the African Union Commission (AUC). It brought to attention the urgent need for all countries in Africa to ratify the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement to ensure a strong economic future for the 1 billion people of Africa creating a cumulative GDP of USD 3 trillion.

The forum was held in Nigeria, as one of the key economies in Africa, to urge the government to ratify the agreement. Our client The Rockefeller Foundation tasked us to come up with a social media campaign to support the trade forum. We conceptualised and executed a pan-African campaign that saw 2052 respondents from 42 countries across Africa sharing their thoughts on the importance of the AfCTFA. The results from the campaign were so overwhelming that The Rockefeller Foundation used them as the primary message of their presentation at the event. The campaign was extended due to its success and further a twitter chat was organised as a follow-up to keep the momentum of public support for the AFCFTA.
