What was the problem?
Romania holds the last place in Europe by the number of blood donors: only 1.7% of Romanians donate blood, almost 10 times less than the Danes, 9 times less than the British and 7 times less than the Dutch. 1 of 10 patients arriving in hospitals in Romania needs blood, but many surgeries end up being delayed due to lack of blood. 70 out of 100 Romanians receive blood at least once in a lifetime, but only 3 out of 100 and donate.
