Papa Johns: Chuckle trophy

Papa John's, a pizza brand, increased the sponsorship value of the England Football League (EFL) Trophy in the UK by collaborating with Paul Chuckle.

Overview

When Papa John's asked for W Communications' support in activating a niche sports sponsorship, we set our eyes on making a Superbowl-style impact. Through a shrewd combination of fan-first insight, strategic satire, and comically creative celebrity casting, we achieved just this - trending on social media, commanding the red tops hard-to-please back pages, and creating a moment described by BBC Sport as being 'bigger than the Superbowl halftime show'. It's safe to say that our highly cost-effective campaign made our target audience and the media they follow 'Chuckle' for all the right reasons.
