Objective
In August 2021, KFC entered the chat… with the launch of the YONDER-designed-and-built KFC WhatsApp ordering platform. The strategy looked to achieve two objectives: the first was to create hype and awareness around what was a pioneering South African-first, as KFC was the first major player in the "m-commerce space" for just about any retail type, and the second was to use a creative PR stunt to drive consumers to the bot, and familiarise them with ordering in chat-space.
