Digital commerce is shifting into an “era of profitability” after the spike in growth fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

Ecommerce is now moving into an “era of profitability” after marketers primarily focused their attention on riding a wave of growth which resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.

This viewpoint was put forward in a recent study by Jordan Jewell, the analyst in residence at VTEX, an enterprise digital commerce platform with over 3,200 stores in 38 countries. Its client roster spans restaurant chain McDonald’s, retailer Walmart, brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev and soft-drinks giant Coca-Cola, giving it a broad perspective on the digital needs of brands.
