The promise that Bon Ami polishing cleanser would not scratch glass and other hard surfaces helped the brand become the leader of its industry and then make a comeback years later after it had almost disappeared from the market. The "Hasn't Scratched Yet" campaign was launched in print media in the 1880s and was still running more than a hundred years later.
