Doconomy: Reinventing the credit card – the Doconomy impact API

Swedish tech company Doconomy used strategic partnerships to drive awareness and adoption of its Impact API product, which provides users of financial products with environmental impact data.


The objective was to turn the creative idea into a scalable business, making environmental impact calculations accessible to global banks, driving behavioral change, directing capital, and incentivizing conscious consumption. The success of Doconomy Impact API is measured in user engagement, behavioral change, and business metrics by the banks implementing it.

Measurment is divided in two verticals.

  1. Success in number of clients and calculations performed, markets size, user reach, media reach, and market preference.
  2. The B2B2C model's progress is measured by clients' success metrics such as awareness, engagement, reduced CO2 impact, increased deposits, revenue, client acquisition cost, and NPS.
