YouTube ad revenue has doubled in past two years, now $6bn
YouTube advertising revenue has topped $6.0bn for only the second time while Google Search has recovered from a COVID-induced decline last year, according to the latest reports from parent company Alphabet.
Why it matters
Online video platforms like YouTube are eroding linear TV investment as consumption shifts towards digital media. Alphabet claims that more 18- to 49-year-olds watch YouTube than linear TV.
