LinkedIn and advertising lead Microsoft revenue growth

LinkedIn and advertising were two of the quickest growing segments for Microsoft in the final three months of 2021, according to the latest company data.
Key stats
- Revenue from LinkedIn, including from subscriptions and advertising, increased by 37.0% to reach $3,531m.
- Microsoft advertising revenue, from its search and news properties, grew by 28.4% in the latest quarter, quicker than the overall growth rate and tied-second among business segments.
- WARC Data forecasts search advertising spend to equal $427bn this year, though social media investment will overtake for the first time.
