Amazon Web Services offers full business health measurement
Amazon Web Services (AWS) last week announced the general availability of Amazon Lookout for Metrics, a new fully managed service that uses machine-learning to detect anomalies in metrics and help determine their root cause.
The details
- In summary, AWS says Lookout for Metrics detects anomalies, such as unexpected dips in revenue, with better accuracy; it can diagnose the root cause of a problem faster; easily integrates popular data sources and SaaS applications; and can automate customised alerts and actions, such as enabling users to remove an incorrectly priced product from a retail website.
- The service initially launched in preview at the AWS re:Invent 2020 conference last December, but is now available in select AWS regions around the world with the company promising to roll it out to additional regions in the next few months.
- Lookout for Metrics is now available in the following AWS regions: North Virginia, Ohio and Oregon in the US, Ireland, Frankfurt in Germany, Stockholm in Sweden, Singapore, Sydney in Australia and Tokyo in Japan.
Key quote
“We’re excited to deliver Amazon Lookout for Metrics to help customers monitor the metrics that are important to their business using an easy-to-use machine learning service that takes advantage of Amazon’s own experience in detecting anomalies at scale and with great accuracy and speed” – Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Amazon Machine Learning for AWS.
