Newspapers without news and a "death match" between technology companies - those are some of the predictions for the marketing and media industries put forward by Rishad Tobaccowala, chief strategy and innovation officer at Publicis Groupe's VivaKi division.

Tobaccowala, speaking to Warc in Singapore at a Starcom MediaVest-hosted session timed to coincide with the Spikes Asia conference, addressed the rise of digital technology, its impact on both the marketing and media sectors, and what executives in those industries can expect in the years to come. He has plenty of experience to back up his ideas - prior to his current role, Tobaccowala was ceo of Denuo, a Publicis unit, and he has also served as the chief innovation officer of Publicis Groupe Media and founder and president of SMG Next.
