What is it?
On 28 March, the European Union’s Parliament, Council and Commission announced they had agreed to go ahead with one of the most important pieces of economic legislation in many years, the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This is the strongest set of regulations anywhere in the world, squarely aimed at reining in the biggest digital businesses operating in the EU, such as Amazon, Meta, Google and Microsoft.
