Gaming livestreams grow 12% as Facebook shows rapid rise

An overview of the hours watched on different gaming livestream platforms between 2018 and 2019.

The number of hours spent watching gaming livestreams has grown by 12.0% year-on-year, according to the latest data from stream management platform StreamElements and analytics platform Arsenal.gg. In December 2019, 1,194 million hours were spent on four of the largest platforms – an increase from 1,066m the year before.

Facebook Gaming saw the largest increase, rising 210.1% year-on-year to over 100m hours. This increased its market share significantly, from 3.1% in December 2018 to 8.5% a year later.
