In 2017, 92% of Australian internet users (aged 16-64) used social media, according to data from GlobalWebIndex. Of these users, 84% had accessed social media from a PC or laptop, with 73% using their mobile device.
The data show that since 2012, the time spent on social media daily has risen from 1:15 (h:mm) to 1:37 in 2017, an increase of 21 minutes. The average number of accounts held per user is 5.2.
