The average American (aged 18+) registered daily TV consumption of 4:46 (hours:minutes) in the first quarter of 2018, according to the latest figures from the Nielsen Total Audience Report. This is a decrease of 37 minutes from the first quarter of 2014, when consumption stood at 5:23. The first and fourth quarters continue to see higher daily consumption when compared to the second and third. However, daily consumption in all four quarters has declined in recent years.
