What we learned about Publicis’ Marcel

Publicis was back in Cannes following a year of development on its new platform, Marcel, which aims to transform the group’s client offer.

Publicis caused ructions when it announced it would not be at Cannes in 2018, on account of a nebulous transformation initiative. Adland was shocked. Yet come the summer, here were three senior leaders back in the south of France to explain that decision and to talk about Marcel, the new AI-powered platform designed to connect the group’s 80,000 employees.

Marcel is still in an early phase: its launch in January of next year has set a target for its rollout, and an aim to connect 80% of the total workforce by 2020.
