Companies active in India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector have good reason to be optimistic, as the category is pegged to see growth from Rs965 billion ($15.5bn) in 2012 to Rs2,245 billion ($36.1bn) in 2017. Television and the internet are likely to be the main drivers of this process, as small screens enhance their market share at the expense of cinema and – as has been the case in other nations across the world – print media titles.
