Sustainable retail tips for APAC from Singapore's circular economy pioneers

Sustainability is both a challenge and opportunity for the fashion industry but circular fashion companies and re-commerce platforms have some tips on how to tackle the former and leverage the latter.

Sustainability is the most important opportunity for the fashion industry, with Asia Pacific among the topmost promising regions to invest in, based on the BoF-McKinsey State of Fashion 2023 Survey.

Yet, sustainability is an uphill struggle in Singapore, where shopping is the "national hobby", albeit with "huge environmental cost and negative social impact”, Jasmine Tuan, co-founder of circular fashion company CLOOP quipped during a panel discussion about sustainable consumption at the recent FUTR Asia summit.

The panel, which included some of Singapore’s pioneers in sustainability, gave five tips on how to address this.
