Introduction
The recent outbreak of Zika in Brazil has led to the declaration of a global public health emergency by the WHO (World Health Organization). Zika has been tentatively linked to a surge in microcephaly in newborns in Brazil, as well as to neurological conditions such as Guillain-Barre syndrome in adults as shown by Hamel et al (2015). The 2016 Olympic Games were expected to attract 500,000 tourists to Brazil, which could catalyze the worldwide distribution of Zika, creating the potential for a global public health disaster.
