Following the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, the performance of the local/domestic tourism and travel sector declined significantly.

To revive the sector and ensure tourism in South Africa continued to gradually recover, South African Tourism (Sho't Left) briefed its partner agencies to develop a 360-campaign aimed at inspiring South Africans to get out of the house more during the 2022 summer season and take advantage of day trips and holiday experiences available to them through the Sho't Left deals and experiences platform https://shotleft.co.za/.
