Background/Summary
In late 2021, almost two years into a once-in-a-century pandemic, workplaces globally underwent a seismic shift. The pandemic, which forced workers home, and then back to the office, and then home again, created the largest collective worker burnout in modern history, leading to a mass resignation movement known as the "Great Resignation."
Employee satisfaction, engagement - and, ultimately, retention and recruitment were consistently listed as the top concerns of Business Decision Makers (BDMs). Leaders everywhere were losing sleep over staffing shortages, which was impacting productivity, leading to more burnout among employees that remained, followed by additional resignations.
