Lexie Hearing, a hearing aid maker, launched a campaign to establish brand awareness and drive sales of its products in the US after new legislation permitted the sale of hearing aids over the counter at retail stores.

Overview

In October 2022, new legislation permitted the sale of hearing aids over-the-counter (OTC) at retail stores for the first time, establishing an entirely new category of medical devices. Before the FDA's regulations were enacted, Lexie Hearing was a relatively unknown name in the US and only sold direct-to-consumer online. SGA executed a smart, well-timed launch strategy and within days of OTC devices hitting shelves, Lexie was being lauded by media as the most trusted brand in non-prescription hearing aids, experiencing record high web traffic and selling out of inventory.
