Jigsaw: Combatting online toxicity – Jigsaw’s harassment manager launch

Jigsaw, Google’s technology incubator, used International Women’s Day to launch an anti-harassment tool in a PR outreach campaign which secured 47 placements, garnering 677m impressions.

The Problem

Online harassment can take many forms — hate speech, hacking and stalking, doxxing, defamation, and threats — and it discourages vulnerable groups f rom participating in our social discourse. Social media, in particular, is often not a safe or friendly place for underrepresented populations, especially people of color, women, and LG BTQ + community members.
