India Leaders for Social Sector: Are some women their own glass ceiling?

Indian Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS), a not-for-profit organisation, launched the ILSS Emerging Women’s Leadership Program to support the leadership development journeys of women leaders in the social sector by raising awareness of the ILSS report to create conversations and trigger interest from women for leadership roles.

Situation Analysis

While women have made significant strides in all spheres of society, and some of the most noteworthy world leaders have been women, there are a section of women who still nurture self-doubts particularly when it comes to taking up leadership positions. This must change for society's holistic development.

According to the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report 2022, the share of women in professional, technical, and managerial roles has been steadily rising over the past 5 years and has reached 42.7%, the highest ever. However, only 31% of women workers go on to take up leadership roles....
