When the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the travel and tourism (T&T) industry, jobs and socioeconomic growth in the Asia Pacific (APAC) were hit exceptionally hard. Concurrently, the suspension of travel lowered the impact made by man-made activities and pollution during pandemic travel restrictions (New York Times, 2021).

As travel restrictions eased in 2022, APAC finally got its 'back to travel' moment.
