Online retailer Amazon launched its Amazon Stars initiative in Brazil and Mexico to highlight the social contributions of its employees and demonstrate its commitment to environmental, social and governance programmes.

The Challenge in the Opportunity

Most large companies have dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) programs to address stakeholder interests, but many firms underestimate their most important asset: their people. How can a company create an environment that encourages its employees to be their best selves in and out of the workplace? To answer this question and to support and recognize employees doing remarkable things for their communities, Amazon launched Amazon Stars.
