Objectives
India has no dearth of moderately successful blood-donation drives.
Most drives try to encourage people to do some social good. Unfortunately, Indians don't really care about social good, hence are reluctant donors, with a "why give something for someone else" mindset.
And so India faced a shortage of 1.95 million units of blood in 2018. Each pint of donated blood can save up to 3 lives. This means 1.95 million units could have potentially saved the lives of 58,50,000 Indians in just one year.
