Having worked in retail for over 10 years, I was impressed by Terry Leahy's decision back in the 90s to launch the Clubcard scheme. It was a ground-breaking decision by a major retailer to invest so heavily in understanding the shopping habits of consumers and to use that data to influence their spending habits.
