Global Industry Overview: Motion Picture Video Production and Distribution
The motion picture production and distribution industry, which is commonly known as the movie industry, records, publishes, and distributes motion pictures worldwide, primarily to theaters and broadcasters. A strong secondary market exists for the transfer of films to videotape or DVDs at the end of the theatrical run, when they may be sold or rented directly to consumers.
