Books that influenced me

Maria Luisa Francoli

By Richard Lipsey Published by Oxford University Press 1999 (ninth edition)

I read Richard Lipsey's First Principles of Economics during my first year at university. This classic textbook easily introduces readers to economic basics through thoroughly understandable explanations and real-life examples. Although a mandatory part of my curriculum, this book actually made me want to read more about the subject. I hate to admit it, but Lipsey's book is probably the only textbook I ever read front to back. I devoured it; his presentation and logistical thinking made economics easy, fun and accessible. It also made me realise how much we use economics-based thinking in our daily decision-making processes.
