INTRODUCTION

In recent years we have noticed that some companies are beginning to pay more attention to women. For them, women have emerged as a new segment to be marketed to. This may be due to their growing purchasing power and greater involvement in the financial making process.

Increasingly in Asia, women are stepping out of the house, contributing to the family income and earning their own keep. Women have also started to be more involved in financial decision making for themselves and the family.

This paper looks to examine the potential of the Asian female segment for financial houses. It considers the needs and attitudes of these women towards wealth management – which are different from the men.
