Five Uses of Social Media in 2010 Warc Prize Entries

The 2010 Warc Prize received more than 70 entries from 23 countries and 17 industry sectors. As part of the publication of Warc Prize entries, we will also examine the main trends exemplified by some of this year’s submissions, starting with approaches to innovation, integration and social media (see below).

It is remarkable how often the economic cycle acts as a catalyst for structural change. Long-term forces often bubble under for years before they are brought to the boil by rapid economic growth – or contraction.

If the entries for the 2010 WARC Prize for Ideas and Evidence are anything to go by, the recent explosion of social media in marketing communications has followed that pattern.
