NEW YORK: Y&R North America's chief executive Chris Jaques is quitting the agency just four months after taking up his post, citing "personal reasons".

Group ceo Hamish McLennan, who appointed Jaques from the Asia operation in September, said the role would not be filled immediately and that he would take on the agency's North America duties for the present.

Jaques' departure follows the exit last month of Y&R Brands chairman/ceo Ann Fudge and worldwide creative director and vice chairman Michael Patti.

Comments McLennan: "It is a short-term challenge, not a setback."
