SINGAPORE: Another eight judges have been added to the judging panel for the 2016 Warc Prize for Asian Strategy, the annual competition to find the region's best strategic case studies.

The Prize, now in its sixth year, is Asia's leading showcase for smart strategic thinking in marketing, with a $10,000 prize fund for winning papers. It is free to enter and open to brand owners and agencies in any discipline; the closing date for entries is 17 June. Full details are available on the Prize website.

From the client side, May Ling Chang, Head of Marketing Services at DiGi Telecommunications in Malaysia, joins Rohit Bhasin, Global Brand Vice President for Fair & Lovely, Unilever and Sanjeeb Chaudhuri, Global Head of Brand and Chief Marketing Officer, Standard Chartered Bank, who will chair the judging panel.

New agency-side judges include Carmen Antunez, Strategic Planning Director at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, Gavin Coombes, President, Edelman Digital, Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa, Josh Gallagher, Chief Strategy Officer at Havas Asia Pacific, Tracey Hamilton, until recently Head of BBH ZAG (BBH's agile consulting brand), CJ Jimenez, Chief Strategy Officer at Publicis JimenezBasic, Philippines, Anita Kanal, SVP, Planning & Integration at Dentsu Singapore, and Richard McCabe, Regional Strategic Planning Director at McCann Worldgroup, Asia Pacific.

The best overall paper will win the $5,000 Grand Prix, while there are also five $1,000 Special Awards for excellence in specific areas. 

These include the Market Pioneer Award for creating a new category or market, the Channel Thinking Award for achieving brand objectives using an innovative channel strategy, the Local Hero Award for a challenger Asian brand taking on larger competitors, the Asia First Award for an insight or innovation that the rest of the world can learn from, and the Research Excellence Award for the best use of research in the development of strategic ideas.

The winner will be announced in September and all cases that win an award will be showcased in the Asia Strategy Report, a study of smart strategic thinking in the region published after the competition has ended.
