Britain’s Email Marketing Association is to merge with the Direct Marketing Association to form a new body supporting education and best practice in the sector.

The duo will form the DMA Email Marketing Council, which will develop industry guidelines and organise training and events to promote online marketing. It is hoped they will have greater influence as a single body.

The Council, which will be part of the DMA’s Interactive Media Division, will include ten members of the former EMA.
